Assorted Pinch pots

Pinch pot made with earthenware clay and decorated with glossy gold.

Pinch pot made using a mixture of stone ware and black clay this has been glazed.

Pinch pot made using a mixture of stone ware and black clay .This has only been glazed on the inside;as you can see the black clay looks much darker on the outside. This may be a chemical reaction with the transparent glaze or the firing temperature of the kiln.

an unglazed unfinished Stoneware and black clay pinch pot.The black clay is stoneware based and so these two can be mixed as they require the same firing temperature. The black clay also has a more grainy/sandy texture which makes a smooth finish difficult having the other clay integrated helps .
This Pinch pot had been fired once and has been dipped into two different glazes ;awaiting a second firing.

Assorted pinch pots and my first pot made on a wheel (on the board). None of these have been fired ;some have been smoothed using a smooth pebble.

Lino cut

Back to lino cutting after a bit of a break.I found a book about woodcuts at one of my favourite bookshops; Halcyon books in Greenwich. It is great to have a rummage around there especially as all books are only £1.This book by Arthur M. Hind had a copy of a print from the  'Doten dantz' (The dance of death) from around 1492. Below I have shown the lino and the test print. It still needs a bit more work .
