Collograph prints

Two different types of collograph are shown here.The first is an application of colour onto a steel plate.A cut out stencil is placed on the inked surface and then put through a press.The paper
has to be slightly damp so that the ink will lift onto the paper.You can see the indention of the plate pressing into the paper.

Collagraphy (sometimes spelled collography) is a printmaking process in which materials are applied to a rigid substrate (such as paperboard or wood). The word is derived from the Greek word koll or kolla, meaning glue, and graph, meaning the activity of drawing.
